Campaign Finance Reform

Huge corporate and wealthy individual campaign contributors give immense sums of money to politicians running for the presidency and Congress. They do so not out of the goodness of their hearts, but to protect their own financial interests. For all practical purposes, they own the government.

The proposed new third party would ban all political contributions over $ 100 and ban television and radio ads, which are usually misleading and negative. Candidates would be given free and equal time on television and radio to speak to the voters and to engage in debates on the issues . Campaigns would be shortened, voter registration improved and voter participation increased.

The president would be limited to one six-year term and Congress members would be limited to twelve years service.
